Diving License Silver

Aim of the course:

Participants will be familiarized with the basic knowledge for dives in open water with an equivalently trained buddy. After successful completion of the course, you can plan and execute dives together with equally experienced divers (min. CMAS***).

Minimum age:

16 years. Minors need a signed consent form of a parent or guardian!

Required level of training:

CMAS* (Bronze)
Or equivalent qualification in reference to the equivalence list of the CMAS.

Further requirements:

  • A minimum of 25 dives since CMAS* (Bronze)
  • Of those at least 10 dives on at least 25m depth
  • You need a valid medical statement of fitness for diving. (This certificate cannot be older than 2 years, alternatively, from an age of 40 onward, not older than 1 year.)
  • SK ‘Orientation at Diving’
  • SK ‘Group Leading’
  • First Aid Course (LSM), not older than 1 year

 

Special regulations: 

  • Not more than 2 training dives per day
  • Upon presentation of a CMAS-Apnoe-diving license which is not older than 3 years, the equivalent exercises with ABC-equipment are omitted.

Training units: 6

Learning Content:

You will learn the basics of autonomous sport diving with and without a scuba device.

Exmination Content:

You have to fill out a questionnaire handed out to you by the instructor within a time limit.

Übungen mit ABC-Ausrüstung:

  • 45 sec. time dive
  • 30m distance diving or 25m with wetsuit
  • 7,5m deep diving in open water
  • 40 min. time snorkelling at a minimum of 1000m distance (breast, side, back position and with 1 flipper, 10 min. each)
  • 100m snorkelling to one scuba diver who stays at 5 m depth, bringing them to the surface and transporting them 100m at the surface (two different transport holds, 50m each)
  • Hopping into the water, with full equipment (without jacket and tank), from 50cm and putting on jacket/tank in the water

 

Übungen mit Tauch-Ausrüstung:

1st Dive:

Conditions:

  • 12-25 meter deep
  • min. 15 minutes
  • min. 1 diver and diving instructor

Exercises:

  • holding a distance of 1-2m from the ground in in changing depths in order to not whirl up sediment
  • giving 3 different underwater hand signals, which stand verbatim on a writing board

 

2nd Dive:

Conditions:

  • 12-25 meter deep
  • min. 15 minutes
  • min. 1 diver and diving instructor

Exercises:

  • Speed-controlled ascension without fins in open water to a depth of 6m with a stop at 9m (re-taring with the mouth is allowed)

 

3rd Dive:

Conditions:

  • 12-25 meter deep
  • min. 15 minutes
  • min. 1 diver and diving instructor

Übungen:

  • Speed-controlled ascension with suggested buddy breathing from maximum depth. In open water the ascension goes up to the water surface with a 3 minute stop at 3m.
  • 15 minutes time snorkeling with complete diving gear in preferred position

 

4th Dive:

Conditions:

  • 12-25 meter deep
  • min. 15 minutes
  • min. 1 diver and diving instructor

Exercises:

  • complete and correct putting on and checking of the equipment on yourself and your diving buddy
  • Complete opening and closing of the weight belt, that is taking out and putting in the weights with gloves under water.
  • After 10 minutes of ascension to the surface, targeting a point that is 100m away with the compass and diving to this point in 3-5m depth
  • taking care of one’s own and the buddy’s equipment after diving

 

5th Dive:

Conditions:

  • 12-25 meter deep
  • min. 15 minutes
  • min. 2 divers and diving instructor

Exercises:

  • preparing, executing and following-up on an entire day-dive.
  • giving the second regulator to a fellow diver while continuing the dive

 

6th Dive:

Conditions:

  • 6-15 meter deep
  • min. 15 minutes
  • min. 2 divers and diving instructor

Exercises:

  • Transporting the ‚injured‘ diving buddy from a depth of 12m to the surface, from there to the shore/boat and subsequently ashore/onto the boat.
  • demonstrating and explaining the one helper method
  • demonstrating and explaining the stable side position
  • demonstrating and explaining the shock position
  • writing a diving protocol

 

Testing:

The diving instructor evaluates the written examination and the practical exercises to see whether the respective course aim has been achieved.

Certification:

As proof of your achievement, you will a get a preliminary confirmation, a sticker for your diving pass as well as a certificate and a card.
