Diver's License Bronze

Aim of the course:
Participants will be familiarized with the basic knowledge for participating in guided dives in open water. After successful completion of the course, you can participate in dives guided by an experienced diver (min. CMAS***).

Minimum age:
14 years. Minors need a signed consent form of a parent or guardian!

Required level of training:
None.

Further requirements:
You need a valid medical statement of fitness for diving. This certificate cannot be older than 2 years, alternatively, from an age of 40 onward, not older than 1 year.

Special regulations: 

  • Not more than 3 training dives per day
  • Upon presentation of a CMAS basic diving license, which is not older than 15 months, the exercises with ABC-equipment as well as the equivalent theoretical part are omitted.
  • Upon presentation of a CMAS-Apnoe-diving license which is not older than 3 years, the equivalent exercises with ABC-equipment are omitted.

Learning Content:
You will learn the basics of sport diving with and without a scuba device.

Examination Content:
You have to fill out a questionnaire handed out to you by the instructor within a time limit.

Exercises with ABC gear:

  • 30 sec. time dive
  • 25m distance diving or 20m with wetsuit
  • within 1 min. 3x 2-5m deep diving
  • 20 min. time snorkelling at a minimum 500m distance (breast, side, back position and with 1 flipper, 5 min. each)
  • 50m snorkelling to one scuba diver who stays at 2-5 m depth, bringing them to the surface and transporting them over 50m at the surface
  • Hopping into the water twice, with full equipment, from 50cm (different jumps)

 

Exercises with diving gear:

1st Dive:

Conditions:

  • 6-15 meter deep
  • min. 15 minutes
  • min. 1 diver and diving instructor

Exercises:

  • taring with the inflator in 3 different depths
  • giving and reacting to 5 different hand signals

 

2nd Dive:

Conditions:

  • 6-15 meter deep
  • min. 15 minutes
  • min. 1 diver and diving instructor

Exercises:

  • Speed-controlled ascension from max. 10m in open water with a stop of 1 min at 3 m.

 

3rd Dive:

Conditions:

  • 6-15 meter deep
  • min. 15 minutes
  • min. 1 diver and diving instructor

Exercises:

  • speed-controlled ascension with suggested buddy breathing from maximum depth in open water.
  • 10 minutes time snorkeling with complete diving gear in preferred position

 

4th Dive:

Conditions:

  • 6-15 meter deep
  • min. 15 minutes
  • min. 1 diver and diving instructor

Exercises:

  • complete and correct putting on and checking of the equipment
  • re-applying the taken out, let go, behind the back hanging diving regulator
  • taking off à putting on and blowing out of the mask in 5m depth
  • taking care of the equipment after diving

 

5th Dive:

Conditions:

  • 6-15 meter deep
  • min. 15 minutes
  • min. 1 diver and diving instructor

Exercises:

  • taking our the regulator at a distance of approx. 5m to the diving buddy, diving to the buddy and breathing from their second regulator for 5 min while proceeding with the dive session during that time

 

6th Dive:

Conditions:

  • 6-15 meter deep
  • min. 15 minutes
  • min. 1 diver and diving instructor

Exercises:

  • transporting the ‚injured‘ diving buddy to the surface, from there to the shore/boat and subsequently ashore
  • demonstrating the one helper method
  • demonstrating the stable side position
  • demonstrating the shock position
  • listing subsequent measures for the rescue chain

 

Testing:
The diving instructor evaluates the written examination and the practical exercises to see whether the respective course aim has been achieved.

Certification:
As proof of your achievement, you will get a sticker for your diving pass as well as a certificate and a card.
